This Sunday morning, my classmates and I are visiting a rest home（敬老院）nearby.

 

    At the rest home, some grandfathers are playing chess. Some grandmothers are sitting and chatting（聊天）under the sun. When they see us, they are very happy. We talk with them about their health and daily life. Then we read the newspaper to them and tell them jokes. They giggle（咯咯笑）with us like children.

 

    In the afternoon, we begin to clean up the rest home. Some of us are cleaning the window glass. Some are sweeping the floor. Some are wiping the tables. Others are washing the clothes. Everyone feels happy and excited.

 

    "Look out!" Suddenly, Tom cries loudly, because John nearly knocks over （碰倒，撞翻）the thermos（热水瓶）.

 

    "Be careful," Tina says, when she sees Lily put a glass on the edge of the table.

 

    Soon, the rest home looks very clean. All the grandmothers and grandfathers praise（表扬，称赞）and thank us. Although（虽然）we are tired, we feel very happy. It’s an unforgettable（难忘的）visit.
