Anne, Tom and Wendy are talking about （谈论）the seasons. Tom says excitedly（兴奋地）," I like the summer most. In summer, my friends and I can go swimming in the river. It’s fun!"
Anne has her own idea. "I like the spring most. Spring is the most beautiful season. It’s warm. Grass comes out（发芽）. Small trees turn green and grow taller. Flowers bloom（开花）. All the animals come out of their homes. Spring is beautiful and lively."
Wendy is silent. She’s thinking of her dear father. Her father is a bricklayer（砖瓦匠）. He works outside every day. In summer, her father gets brown in the sun. He sweats a lot. In winter, her father’s hands and face are always red because of the cold wind and snow.
"Spring is the most beautiful season. Everything is new. It’s warm. In summer, swimming is really fun. But it’s too hot. My father has to（不得不） work under the hot sunshine. In autumn, it’s neither hot nor cold（天气既不冷也不热）. We feel comfortable（舒服）. I wish the summer could be as cool as the autumn. In winter, the white snow is very beautiful. We can make snowmen. It’s very exciting. But it’s too cold. I wish the wind and snow could be warm in winter. Then my father’s hands and face wouldn’t be red."
